MGBSD FRAMEWORK
A framework for territories that do not admit simplification.
MGBSD integrates geodiversity, biodiversity and sociodiversity as operational layers within a single territorial reading — and turns that reading into decision criteria.
Incomplete metrics see too little and arrive too late.
Classic hotspots, disclosure frameworks and much of corporate reporting capture only a fraction of what a territory really is. MGBSD starts from another premise: territory cannot be understood if its physical base, living diversity and custody layer are split apart.
GEO · BIO · SOCIO — what a territory really is.
GEO
Lithology, soils, relief, hydrology. The structure that conditions everything else.
BIO
Taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity. Not only how many species exist, but what irreplaceable complexity they sustain.
SOCIO
Custody, rights, tenure, knowledge and governance. The layer that decides whether a territory resists, collapses or defends itself.
One language to measure different worlds.
Hill numbers provide a common language for effective diversity across axes, scales and territories. They are not mathematical decoration here. They function as an operating language.
ᵍD = (Σᵢ pᵢᵍ)^(1/(1-g))
q=0 → riqueza · q=1 → exp(Shannon) · q=2 → 1/Simpson
A datapoint does not end in a chart.
At BioVoxel.Earth, a useful datapoint must cross four lives: ecological diagnosis, economic account, legal evidence and policy instrument. When that chain breaks, environmental information debt appears.
What used to be diffuse complexity becomes actionable criteria.
For governments — territorial prioritization with stronger evidence structure.
For funds — territorial compatibility reading before capital is committed.
For companies — translation of nature disclosure into site, jurisdiction and chain.
For cooperation — a more demanding basis for deciding where to intervene and how to measure.
We do not compete with a dashboard. We close a gap.
| Actor | Contributes | Still misses |
|---|---|---|
| Established biodiversity hotspots | BIO prioritization | No GEO + SOCIO integration |
| TNFD | Disclosure | No proprietary territorial reading |
| SBTN | Targets | No legal corpus integration |
| GBIF | Open data | No decision structure |
| MGBSD | Triaxial reading + corpus + atlas | Turns complexity into decision |
